Hotel Zuana receives the international Blue Flag certification for the fifth time

The Zuana Hotel received the international Blue Flag certification for the fifth time for its concessioned Bello Horizonte beach in Santa Marta. The flag was raised on Friday, December 1, 2023.

In addition to the certification awarded by ACODAL and the Vice Ministry of Tourism , the prestigious hotel received special recognition for its support and promotion of environmental and sustainable management of marine-coastal tourism.

Hotel Zuana is the only beachfront hotel in Colombia and South America to hold this important environmental eco-label, increasingly valued by both domestic and international guests. Currently, Colombia boasts nine Blue Flag hotels , two of which are located in the city of Santa Marta .

The hotel's concessioned beach has stood out for meeting key aspects to obtain this certification, including water quality, safety for bathers, environmental education and environmental management, among others.

From the Hotel Zuana, this recognition is considered a gift and a source of pride for the Santa Marta destination and for Colombia. "It represents a significant effort by the private sector to demonstrate that, by joining forces, will, and a positive vision, it is possible to achieve great things."

It is worth noting that ACODAL is the representative entity of the Blue Flag certification in Colombia, an international recognition created by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) .
